This recently completed development is a phase 2 of the overall plans for the development of the entire landholding at this location. The development consisted of the following:
2 storey car Deck
150m long open sided car deck with retail unit on the ground floor and open air parking at first floor level. The development included a roof top garden. Total floor area 2,800m2. Construction consisted of precast concrete slabs on masonry walls on a 1st floor insitu-concrete deck on piled foundations.
This 4 storey building consists of an Aldi Superstore on the ground floor, office at the first floor level and 10 no Residential Apartments on the top two floors. Total floor area 3,500m2. Construction consisted of precast concrete slabs on a steel frame on piled foundations.
A flood channel was required along the full length of the development running parallel with the Owenacurra River to allow the development to commence. Channel construction included a precast concrete quay wall on piled foundations. The channel was evacuated out, the remaining soil reinforced with a geotextile material and the area landscaped.
DOSA were responsible for the civil/structural engineering element of the project.
